It is no news that most of the students who are tech-savvy enough can easily access to the internet to grasp any kind of information, any time, any place, as long as there is internet available for them. Regardless of any topic and age, people would go to youtube, spotify or any website and application to get in touch with the latest music, especially popular music in large demand. As we all realized, the internet is a big part of our lives and we are rather dependent on it to get our resources, including music.
Even though it is a current fashion that we all need internet to learn about most of the informations, there are still people who chose other ways to get to the similar information that we get. However, it is by popular demand, that internet is something extremely essential especially to our generation, because we always want to learn the latest news of everything as well as sharing the information to the others at the fastest pace possible. In this case, music education is no exception. It is not necessarily the best learning method, but we have to admit that the growth of students being dependent on internet in this day and age is increasing and we certainly have to tailor our teaching to fit our students' preference. It is, however, a better route for us, as music educators, as we can share information among each other with just a click away and we get to improve our knowledge in learning and teaching with one simple action.
As long as there is internet access, it will always play a big role in music education and be increasingly useful to us.
